Disney: part 1

This is a piece on just the Disney portion of the trip cause that in itself has lots to write about.

Rob: Rob was in rare form. You know how Rob gets when it's "time-to-go". He just goes, no delay or anything. Well he was all-go, no-quit the WHOLE DAY LONG. seriously 12 hours in and he was still going at break neck speeds. We tried to slow him down by giving him a stroller, but alas he just took off with the stroller. Our day started early, Rob went to buy tickets at like 7am while the rest of us continued to sleep. How lame is that for him, right? Well, the rest of us met him there at like 8 or so when the actual park opened. That's why there's not alot of video of Rob, he was always way ahead of the group.

Mickey Mouse: We saw Mickey Mouse like 3 minutes after walking through the gates and then never saw him again. We wondered if there is just one Mickey at a time or are there multiple ones strategically placed around the park.

Roller Coasters: To clear things up about the supposed "roller-coaster-phobia" that Scott mentioned. I am not afraid of coasters, I just don't enjoy them. I don't like the feeling of free-fall. I like Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad cause there are no big drops.

Turkey Legs: Ya know those big turkey legs that they sell from a cart? I was in line to buy one and I saw this rather large young man literally TEARING into a leg. I was totally grossed out and ended up buying a giant chimichanga instead. Not really a better choice I know, but I didn't want someone else thinking, "Ewww look at that rather large young man tearing into that leg!" I had to break the chain.

Fast Passes: Fast passes are dumb, well not really but they are not as useful as they could be. The way they work is you get a pass to come back later and ride a ride. But, you can't stack fast passes. So you can't have more that one even for different rides. And sometimes the pass is for like 2 hours later. So, if at 11am you get a pass for space mountain for 2:00 you can't get one for splash mountain until you ride the space mountain one. I understand not letting you get more than one for the same ride, but at least let me go around the park and get some for some other rides.

Fireworks: At the end of the video the left hand of the screen is blocked by a tree, I know I could have just stood more to the right, but c'mon Disney cut down that dumb tree. It's totally in the way.

thats it for now...

see you tomorrow.

My watch

Yesterday I went to a birthday bbq at my dad's house for my sister. I forgot my watch there, it is a new watch I just got it last week from the Fossil Outlet in Camarillo, CA when I was on vacation.

Well, my dad brought it over today to my house, he came over to help me work on my yard (which is getting out of control)

He mentioned how much he liked my new watch, more than his new watch the he just got. He said he liked the size and weight and the color of the face, and would I be willing to trade? How am I supposed to say no to that especially when he is busting his butt working on my yard.

There is nothing wrong with his watch, which he offered in the trade so I accepted it. I am kinda sad but he is real happy with the new one. So i guess its okay.

I wish I had it for more than a week though.

Welcome back

Hi, I basically skipped July completely.

I guess when I look back I'm going to have to assume that nothing happened all month long.

I did go on a trip to California for a wedding and I was able to document some of the things that we did. Here is the first installment, in video (I hope). Paul, Trevor and I went riding in the desert. I had a ton of fun, unfortunately I was video-recording so there are no shots of me. I think that Rob got some footage of me on his camera, but he is still on the second leg of the trip so I won't have access to that for a few more days.

I will try to get more stuff up soon. We went to Disneyland, but most of that was recorded with still pictures.

Nothing New and sick people

I haven't published anything in a while, about three weeks in fact.

Not because I don't have things to write about, but I just can't find the time in my day to sit at the computer and compose my thoughts.

Now having missed weeks of blog-oppurtunities, with time on my hands I can't think of all the things that I would have wanted to talk about.

I do have on thing to share though.

I think people need to learn better how to define "feeling sick". Today at work I had to un-load a container truck all by myself. A job that would be made easier with two people, mostly because I had to keep getting in and out of the truck. The guy that was supposed to help me called in sick. And far be it from me to accuse someone of falsely calling in, but I think there is a difference in not feeling well and not being able to work. I have had a cold for the past 2 days, but I wasn't incapacitated I just felt crappy. I think that people, and by people I mean Ikaika, have to evaluate their abiltiy to operate while not at 100% and determine if they can still serve a purpose in their day-to-day responsibilities so I don't have to work as hard as I did today,
